I am a professional sports massage practitioner with over 20 years experience, i am based in Brentwood, Essex; helping clients overcome physical pain prior to or following a hard training session or a race, as a result of being cramped up over a computer, ongoing poor posture or a specific injury.

As a qualified advanced sports massage therapist my appointments include a combination of hands on massage and physiotherapy techniques such as soft tissue release, trigger point therapy, myofascial release (MFR) , craniosacral therapy and passive stretching, to relieve pain, encourage release and healing. I can also offer ultrasound which can be used on acute injuries and myofascial dry cupping which when used in conjunction with sports massage is a very effective healing treatment (can also be used alone).

Sports Massage Therapy

Sports massage or deep tissue massage is a holistic treatment which uses various hands on massage techniques to work deep into the muscles.

It is highly beneficial whether you are involved in sport or not, some of the benefits that can be gained through regular sports massage sessions are that it:

Relieves muscle tension and stiffness
Identifies muscular imbalances
Breaks down scar tissue which forms at the site of an injury or following an operation
Helps prevent injuries
Improves circulation and general well being
Improves flexibility
Reduces postural stress particularly back neck and shoulders

Hot Stone Therapy

An incredibly relaxing treatment, also known as thermal therapy. Hot stones have been used therapeutically dating back to the Incas approximately 1500 BC and are proven to aid the bodies healing processes. During my Hot Stone Therapy service stones are heated to 50 degrees centigrade which allows a deeper effect, one movement with a hot stone is equivalent to 4 or 5 with just the hands.

Stimulates lymphatic drainage assisting in detoxification.
Relaxes tired/sore/aching muscles to improve flexibility and strength.

I first saw Jo for a sports massage a couple of years ago and was amazed at the difference it made to my very knotted shoulders and other body parts. She has exceptional strength, knowledge and is passionate about her work and is cheerful and charming.
