August 15, 2016Leave a commentMassage

A general definition of good posture can be defined as ;

A state of muscular and skeletal balance which protects the supporting structures of the body against injury and / or progressive deformity irrespective of the way in which these sructures are working and /or resting.

In healthy people the structure and function of our body provides the potential for attaining and maintaining this good posture.

GOOD POSTURE is a GOOD habit the contributes to the well being of a person.

POOR POSTURE can be described as a faulty relationship between the various parts of the body which produces increased strain on supporting sructures i.e muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.

Some of the common side effects bad posture can have on our health and state of mind are ;

Headache

Backache

Neck & shoulder pain / dysfunction

Constipation

Respiratory difficulties

Depression

Jaw dysfunction

Increased stress & anxiety

Circulatory problems

Knee, hip & ankle problems

SOLUTIONS  to the above problems;

Have regular SPORTS MASSAGE, stretch tight muscles, strengthen the weaker muscles and activate those deep core muscles.
